ENGAGEMENT RING

How does one possibly design an engagement

ring as beautiful as the girl that will be wearing

it? Follow these steps:

-Pick the word that best describes her (PURE)

-Choose design trait to exemplify the 1st (WHITE)

-Create a design based off of that trait.

In order to achieve “PURE” in a ring, we used

50 paveted diamonds of SPARKLE, and a band

of inlaid IVORY to create continuous WHITE.

This small wooden table stool uses the

RELATIONSHIP between negative and

positive space to communicate the even stronger

RELATIONSHIP between this young, soon to

be wed, couple.

Pernounced “Shernika”. The Russian word for

BLUEBERRY. This impressive berry represents

just the right amount of simplicity, class, and

a subtle kiss of sweetness...Just like the girl

who wears this necklace. It was designed and

made in Vladivostok, Russia of rose gold.

This color scheme and layout represents what

BYU M&Ms would look like were the M&Ms

company to “choose the right” and sponser

BYU intramural’s soccer league.

EXPRESSIVE PAINTING

This painting was inspired and designed after

the light and colors seen when sitting below a

tree as the sunlight shines brightly through each

of the partly transparent leaves. Just as the

colors are divinely inspired, as is the element

of organized disorder.

PATTERN STUDY

How can the repetitive placement of an original

shape lead to the formation of many shpaes?

How does a color scheme effect these shapes?

BAS RELIEF TEXTURE

The goal of this piece was to achieve pattern

of texture through different surface materials and

lighting placement.

DIVIDING SPACE

There is a certain feeling of peace and content

that comes when space is divided well, when lines

match up, and proportion is achieved.

3D PATTERN STUDY

It is one thing to create a shape and then repeat

that shape on paper. It is another thing to create

an object, and then repeat that object in a 3D

manner, growing in all directions, filling up space

in a way that looks and feels complete at any

and all stages and angles.

LINES AND PLANES

Can a plane be created without using a plane?

What type of plane is created through parallel

lines?

KINETIC DESIGN

Design through movement. By strategicly

placing magnets throughout the board which

correspond with magnets placed on the

flipside of the sliding strip, the design changes

from A to B to C as the strip slides from one

end to the other.
